What is HUMMS?
Humss stands for Humanities and Social Sciences. This strand focuses on the study of human behavior and social changes as well as analysis of arts, culture, literature and politics. Also, it involves political science, anthropology, linguistic, psychology and communication...
An interesting thing about this strand is that it deals with scientific study of human society and social relationship. It means that you can achieve a great skill in deeply understanding humansociety especially in human behavior which can help you to effectively communucate or socialize with others.
Many students are considering the so many essay activities as a disadantage of the humss strand, but for me it's not like that.As a humss student i can say that those essay activities gives 2 advantaves:
• It enhances the speaking skills of a student. It does not pertain to the literally speaking skills using your mouth, hence it pertains to speaking one's self.Trough those essays a student can engage his/her skills in sharing opinions or perspective about a certain matter such as in political or social issues.
• It boost self-confidence in the way that it makes a student more confident in sharing his/her thoughts and opinions using essays.

•Build Confidence, critical thinking and also builds skills especially the communication skills.
•This strand gives you deeper understanding in applicable things such as communication.

And Andfor me the greatest advantage of being a HUMSS student is that it gives you/covers more career than other strand. In that case , you will be having more options in choosing the right career for you in the future.
